About WBE Certification
Norris Sales is proud to be a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). Karen Zajick is the President and Owner of Norris Sales Company, Inc.
Karen hopes that being a certified Women Business Enterprise is a way to encourage future women entrepreneurs. Equipment distribution and supply has traditionally been a very male-oriented business, however, she has seen a shift in recent years. More and more women have entered the industry and have taken on greater leadership roles.
Zajick also understands that, for many customers, it is difficult to fulfill some of the WBE requirements and supply-chain diversity they have when they get contracts. The WBE certification represents a win for Norris Sales' customers on two fronts: it helps them fulfill their contractual requirements to win more deals and it allows them to continue to use Norris Sales for all their equipment needs. Both on a personal level and as a representative of Norris Sales, Karen and the other members of the company’s leadership team appreciate any opportunity to leverage the knowledge gained over 60 years in business to improve the customer experience and the industry as a whole.
The WBE designation is awarded by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is recognized nationwide by corporations, non-profits, government agencies and educational institutions as a third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.
The WBENC's mission is to fuel economic growth globally through access to opportunities, by identifying, certifying and facilitating development of women-owned businesses through certification and collaboration. Their view is that diversity promotes innovation, opens new channels of revenue and resources, and creates partnerships which provide opportunities that fuel the economy.
