About the Construction Equipment Mechanic Position

The Construction Equipment Mechanic position located in Sicklerville, NJ office of Norris Sales is responsible for performing repair and maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, in addition to managing and prioritizing work in progress.

Construction Equipment Mechanic Job Duties

  o Diagnose, service, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  o Perform regular preventive maintenance.
  o Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts and reassemble units.
  o Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts,
     brakes, tires and clutches.
  o Change filters and oil and lubricate vehicles and motor driven equipment.
  o Maintain service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment.
  o Prioritize workload and manage tasks to ensure equipment is ready when needed.
  o Keep tools, equipment and work area clean and organized and in good working condition.
  o Other duties as assigned.

Construction Equipment Mechanic Required Experience

  o 5 years experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  o Must be experienced with electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  o Formal training in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
  o Basic computer skills necessary for communication and recordkeeping.
  o Effective communication skills.
  o Ability to work as a team player.
  o Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.

Construction Equipment Mechanic Physical Requirements

  o Frequent stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling are required.
  o Must have ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  o Hearing and manual dexterity are required.
  o Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
