The driving force behind SKIL has always been innovation, going back to the Model E circular saw. Introduced in 1924, The Model E was the first portable circular saw, pioneering the use of a worm drive and a die-cast aluminum motor housing. Its successor, the Skilsaw Model 77 became the bench-mark of portable circular saws. And seven decades later can still be found on virtually every construction site in America.
Innovation and Growth
The SKIL product line has expanded to feature more than 100 tools – each based on extensive research and consumer input. In addition to introducing the first portable circular saw, Skil released the first three-way action roto hammer (1960), the first self-contained consumer cordless drill (1976), the first in-line battery powered screwdriver (1985), the first scrolling jigsaw with orbital action (1997), and the first palm-sized cordless screwdriver.
Norris Sales is proud to offer products from Skil at both our locations in Conshohocken, PA and Sicklerville, NJ.
